This article by Jason Heath addresses a very important issue, how is one’s OAS impacted by the sale of a vacation property. The article addresses the woman specific question, but doesn’t do the best job of addressing the general question. That said, it is one that should generate some further research and consideration if you do all our vacation property and are considering selling it in retirement. The other thing I like about this article is it addresses issues related to retirees who have low income levels.

Another article by Jason Heath. He addresses what happens to a TFSA when one spouse dies. Of upmost importance is knowing the difference between “beneficiary” and “successor holder”. A “beneficiary” could end up paying some tax on gains made in the account after death.
