Another interesting short piece by Frederick Vettese. In it, looks at which proportion of several demographic groups are living below the poverty line. The group with the smallest percentage of individuals living below the line in Canada is “the 65+ group”… most of which are “single women living alone, Indigenous groups or recent immigrants”. This supports my argument that most seniors should not be receiving discounts because we are the ones least in need of them.
