Ryan Borzykowski addresses the mistakes we all make when we are out doing our Holiday shopping. He cites a number of tips provided by shopping guru Kendra Silvertson to counteract these. My favourite of which, and one I am always prone to look for myself, is “signing up to company email lists to get sales notices”… these often provide an immediate discount as well.

Here’s an interesting article by Andrew Allentuck. He examines the retirement readiness of a woman who is much younger than her husband, who is already retired. Apparently working from home will allow her to continue working for a few years more, and put her in an even better position.

Diane Malley has some suggestions for a woman who is currently 57 and would like to retire and live off of her current assets. I’m not really sure that this is relevant to most individuals because she is actually married and there is another side to her financial picture. Maybe she really wants to know if she can have a reasonable retirement as a SINGLE person. 🙂

Retired people like to read. OK, that is a gross generalization, but I do, so this is what you get this morning. 🙂 The Globe and Mail normally publishes a list of its top 100 books about this time of year. This post by Nathalie Atkinson may be the 2020 weakened substitute.
