We’re Talking About the Dreaded Exercise, and Developing Healthy Habits … Sigh!

Health and Fitness, I know it has to be in here. In retirement most of us have arrived at the point where it is important to pay closer attention to our overall wellness. Needless to say, it’s not an area that I have devoted a lot of time and energy to in the years leading up to my retirement, or since. Apparently hoisting heavy glasses of beer up to one’s mouth doesn’t qualify as exercise – even though I try to alternate arms to balance the benefits. But, now that I am publicly declaring that it must be addressed I will certainly have to take action — I guess — if I have to.

So, for the record I am publicly announcing that today I weigh “X” pounds, and one year from now I will weigh “x minus 30″ pounds, and be a whole lot fitter — looks so serious when I see it here in black and white. Maybe I should have expressed it in kilos, it would have seemed like a much smaller number. I did enjoy using the rowing machine and other quasi torture devices in Hong Kong, and I did lose ten pounds; I wonder if there was a relationship, probably not.
