Sorry Joan, I don’t think I can be of any help to you. Florence is a great city and I can remember having one spectacular meal there with friends, but I can’t even recall the name of the restaurant. 🙂 We have spent such little time in Tuscany that I wouldn’t be able to have anything to say about that that would be helpful either. Enjoy your trip though, I’m sure it will be wonderful.
We’re enjoying your take on wintering in Spain, as we explore Malaga for our next winter stay put destination. One thing we’re rather interested in is to participate in twice-three times weekly Spanish language lessons. And we wonder if you have any feedback on local classes?
I have not taken any Spanish lessons any of the times we have wintered on the Costa, but my wife took some in the first year we were there. She found the woman she worked with through a classified ad in one of the free English newspapers that gets distributed weekly called “Sur in English”. Here is a link to the website. (https://www.surinenglish.com). But, in general, you will have absolutely no problem finding places to take Spanish lessons. Over the years I have noticed several language school offices just walking around in every city we have stayed in. You could hit the ground running by taking some here before you go. I may well be doing that myself next fall to ramp up my own Spanish skills.
Love your blog! Realistic, honest, humourous, interesting, variety…every topic a great choice, every article worthwhile…the best, honestly, the best blog I’ve read on retirement…a member of RTO
Very gracious of you to say so. A few more items to come in the next week or so, and then I will be reporting from “on the road”. Thank you for the lovely comment.
Hi
Great site
Any suggestions/tours/thoughts on travelling to Florence and Tuscany. October 2025?
